Working within Listed Building constraints, we have endeavoured in our upgrade to make the Building as eco friendly as possible. Not only benefiting the environment, it also benefits our tenants with reduced ongoing utility costs. This includes extensive use of LG7 compliant LED lighting throughout. A tenant in a sister project of ours who recently made a similar move to LED has reported significant energy cost savings. Use of LED reduces carbon emissions due to energy efficiency. The upgrade design incorporates separate metering of all utilities. The Suites also benefit from VRF (variable refrigerant flow) ‘comfort cooling’. These systems are extremely efficient, reliable, energy saving ways to heat and cool all types of buildings. The volume or flow rate of refrigerant is accurately matched to the required heating or cooling loads thereby saving energy and providing more accurate control.

Manchester City Council have secured planning permission to pedestrianize and expand Albert Square and turn it into a place of ‘international significance’ with a £13m investment to transform the Square into one of Europe’s finest open spaces.
